Before a second-hand film camera goes on the shelf it gets a test roll — shot on the camera itself, developed and scanned in our own lab. The frames end up on the camera's own page, so you can see what it does before you buy it.

What the tag means
A roll, not a promise.
A second-hand camera can look immaculate and still not take a picture. The only way to know is to load it, shoot it and look at what comes back — so that is what we do, on every film camera that goes on this shelf.
The roll is developed and scanned in our lab at 77 Queens Drive, and the frames go straight onto the camera's page, unedited. Most of them were shot within walking distance of the shop, which is why the same Lower Hutt corners keep turning up.
It also means the scans show the camera as it is now: its light leaks, its soft corners, the way its meter reads on a grey day. If a camera has a quirk, you will see it before you buy it rather than after.

Nothing here is a stock photograph. Every frame came off a camera we had for sale, on a roll someone in the shop went out and shot.
