Minolta was a Japanese camera and optics maker founded in 1928, credited with launching the world's first integrated autofocus SLR system, the Maxxum and Dynax series, in 1985. After merging with Konica in 2003, the combined company sold its camera business to Sony in 2006, and Minolta's lens mount and technology live on today in Sony's Alpha camera system.
