A working black and white darkroom at 77 Queens Drive, hired by the half day or the full day. Chemicals, paper, trays and tanks are on the shelf below.

Everything to develop and print at home. Paterson tanks, trays and tongs, Ilford Multigrade developer, fixer and stop, Harman starter kits and the paper to print on.

From $7.50 for a small bottle to $260 for a full kit — and if you would rather not set it up at home, our darkroom is available to hire.

Mind the light

Flick the switch and the page goes under the safelight, same as the room does. Flick it back whenever you like.

Choose a date and a block below and the darkroom is booked to you. If the day you want is not showing, call the shop and we will sort it.

  • Half day $60 — the room and the gear for a half-day block.
  • Full day $100 — the whole day, start to finish.

Before you come in

What you'll need

The room comes stocked. The two things that have to come with you are your negatives and your paper.

We provide

  • Chemicals Developer, stop and fix — all the chemistry for your session.
  • The room The darkroom itself, yours for the block you booked.
  • The equipment Everything set up in the room is there to use.

You bring

  • Your developed negatives Film has to be developed before it can be printed. We can do that in the lab next door if yours is still on the roll. Get film developed
  • Your darkroom paper Bring whatever you like to print on. We stock Ilford Multigrade if you would rather pick it up on the day. See what we stock
