Minolta X-300 with MD 50mm f/2

One of the great honest film SLRs. The X-300 strips things back to aperture priority and full manual, with a bright viewfinder and a satisfying mechanical feel that makes it a genuinely lovely first film camera. The MD 50mm f/2 is a sharp, compact standard lens with pleasant rendering wide open, and the Minolta MD mount opens up decades of cheap, excellent glass.

  • 35mm film SLR, Minolta MD mount
  • Includes MD 50mm f/2 standard lens
  • Aperture priority and manual exposure modes
  • Bright viewfinder with LED shutter speed readout

Lens system: Minolta MD/MC

35-70mm f/1.4

  • Understanding aperture/shutter relationship
  • Aperture-priority cameras, basic manual SLRs with meters

Warranty: 2 Months from purchase

All second-hand film cameras sold at Camera House NZ come with a 2 month warranty when they've been film tested by us.

Our 2 month warranty covers mechanical and electronic failures that occur during normal use. If something goes wrong with your camera during this period, bring it back and we'll sort it out.

This warranty reflects our confidence in the cameras we sell and our commitment to getting you out shooting with reliable equipment. We've been in the photography business since 1953, and we stand behind the gear we sell.

Guarantee: Film Tested

We put a roll of film through each camera to verify that the shutter, film advance, and light meter (where fitted) are working correctly. This real-world testing ensures you're getting a camera that's ready to shoot, not just one that looks good on the shelf.

About the brand

Minolta

Minolta was a Japanese camera and optics maker founded in 1928, credited with launching the world's first integrated autofocus SLR system, the Maxxum and Dynax series, in 1985. After merging with Konica in 2003, the combined company sold its camera business to Sony in 2006, and Minolta's lens mount and technology live on today in Sony's Alpha camera system.
