Classic rangefinder from the 1960s with excellent optics and full manual control.

Key specs:

  • 45mm f/1.8 lens
  • Coupled rangefinder focusing
  • Manual and auto exposure modes
  • Built-in light meter

Condition: Viewfinder is hazy (common with vintage cameras of this age). This affects framing clarity but does not impact image quality. The rangefinder patch may still be usable for focusing.

The Hi-Matic 7s was Minolta's premium compact rangefinder, featuring that fast f/1.8 lens known for excellent sharpness and character. CdS meter provides accurate auto-exposure or you can shoot fully manual.

Great for street photography, travel, and everyday shooting if you're comfortable working with a hazy finder. The images will still be sharp - it's just the view that's affected.

Solid option for anyone wanting classic rangefinder experience at an affordable price point.

Minolta built cameras from 1928 to 2006, earning respect as genuine innovators rather than followers. They pioneered autofocus SLRs with the groundbreaking Maxxum/Dynax 7000 in 1985, revolutionizing photography overnight. Their film cameras combined excellent build quality with clever engineering - the X-700 and SRT series remain hugely popular with film shooters today. Known for outstanding optics (their Rokkor lenses are legendary), reliable bodies, and features that actually mattered to photographers. When Minolta merged with Konica and eventually sold to Sony in 2006, their legacy lived on - Sony's A-mount system is built directly on Minolta's foundation, and those old Minolta AF lenses still work perfectly on modern Sony bodies.
