The SP-310 was a nicely capable compact for its day - it paired that characterful CCD sensor with proper manual controls and even RAW shooting, which was rare on a compact, making it a favourite for anyone wanting more creative control. Battery note: This one really does need good lithium AA batteries to run reliably - standard alkalines drain almost instantly and can cause the camera to shut down or misbehave. Fit quality lithium AAs (or good rechargeables) and it runs happily; it's the single biggest thing to get right with this model.
