East German utilitarianism at its finest — the Praktica L is chunky, clunky, and has all the ergonomic charm of a breeze block. Built in the early 1970s by Pentacon, it's loud, stiff, and strictly functional. That said, it's built like it was designed to survive a nuclear winter, which counts for something.
The Domiplan 2.8 is a basic 3-element triplet — soft and a bit rough wide open, but stop it down to f/5.6 and it earns its keep. It has a characteristic swirly bokeh that some people love, though "character" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
A genuine piece of Cold War history that'll take a beating and shoot real film. Just don't expect comfort or finesse.
