Tank-tough Japanese 35mm SLR from 1965 - Nikon's rugged, mechanical workhorse paired with a classic standard prime.

The Nikkormat FT was the original in the line - Nikon's tougher, more affordable sibling to the pro F-series, and built like a vault. Heavy, all-metal, and famously reliable, with the distinctive shutter-speed ring around the lens mount rather than on top. Being fully mechanical, it shoots happily without a battery (the cell only powers the meter), so it'll keep going regardless.

Condition note on the meter: The meter did not seem accurate at all in bright sunlight.
