An ultra-compact point-and-shoot from the mid-90s with an unusually wide 28mm lens — most compacts of the era sat at 35mm or 38mm, so this one gives you a noticeably more open, grab-it-all frame. Autofocus, auto exposure, auto wind and rewind: load it, point, shoot. Properly pocketable and runs on AAs rather than an expensive lithium cell. Tested and working.

  • 35mm film point-and-shoot, circa 1994
  • Minolta 28mm f/5.6 wide-angle lens
  • Autofocus with built-in flash
  • Single 1/125s shutter — best in daylight or with flash
  • DX coding, ISO 100–400
  • Runs on 2x AA batteries
  • Tested and working — 2 month warranty

About the brand

Camera House NZ

Minolta was a Japanese camera and optics maker founded in 1928, credited with launching the world's first integrated autofocus SLR system, the Maxxum and Dynax series, in 1985. After merging with Konica in 2003, the combined company sold its camera business to Sony in 2006, and Minolta's lens mount and technology live on today in Sony's Alpha camera system.
