The CP-5 is a capable Chinon SLR offering both aperture-priority auto and full manual control, so it's easy to shoot on auto or take the reins when you want to. The 50mm f/1.9 is a lovely fast standard lens - great for low light, portraits, and everyday shooting with nice subject separation.
