The full-size Slik tripods are the ones to reach for when the shutter is open for more than a moment — night shots, long exposures, anything on a long lens. The 300DX and the Able 413b sit in the middle of the range; the PRO 700DX is the heavy one.
At the other end are the small ones: an Apexel mini that fits in a jacket pocket, a flexible one that wraps around a railing or a branch, and a travel tripod for when the full-size legs are too much to carry.
Then the plates. A quick-release plate is the small part that stays on the camera, and it is always the first thing to disappear. We stock Slik replacements by model number — 6027E, 6123E, 6124, 6183, 6252, 6507 — so bring the tripod or the old plate in and we can match it.
Before you buy
Stand one up first.
A tripod is hard to judge from a photograph — the height, the weight and how the head moves are the whole thing. They are on the floor at 77 Queens Drive, so come and put your camera on one.
